Israel at a Crossroads: The View from 30,000 Feet

An Evening with Prof. Dan Ben-David - In Hebrew

Israel at a Crossroads: The View from 30,000 Feet

Much of the discourse abroad on Israel continues to focus on an outdated set of paradigms. Within Israel, there is a growing realization that the country’s core challenges have shifted – and with them, an internalization that Israel is at a crossroads.  Is the window of opportunity still open?

Karate: What You See Is Not What You Get

Community Tuesdays

Karate: What You See Is Not What You Get
Hollywood has become the primary source of information for most people about martial arts. Action movies can give rise to fantasies about hand-to-hand combat that should appropriately remain in the imagination rather than be thought to be even remotely realistic. Although sport karate at its highest levels includes world-class athletic skill and perfect technique, the presence of a referee with a whistle who can stop combat also creates a sense of fantasy in both the participants and spectators.

Desmond Tuck, one of a handful of 7th degree black belts in Goju Ryu Seiwa Karate-do in the Western hemisphere—and less than a dozen in the Western world—will describe his experience as he climbed the ladder in one of the premier karate organizations in the world.
