OFJCC Palo Alto JCCChess is a game that has withstood the test of time. It is a game of skill, but also a game of logical puzzles that teach pattern recognition and critical thinking through just playing the game! In Chess Champions we bring new players into the fold, teaching them the basics of movement and value of the pieces. All levels of players benefit from our varied and multilayered lessons, catered and molded to our students' needs. Intermediate and advanced students will learn a variety of tactics, opening concepts and endgame skills to bring to their repertoire and improve their chess skills. Come join us in playing and celebrating this ancient and fun game!

    About the Instructor:
Cameron comes from a creative art and illustration background and while in college rekindled his passion for the game of chess. He realized that this passion for the game came from its ability to be an art and a creative game in its own right. Since Cameron began teaching the game of chess along with all of its rules and fundamentals, he has always tried to imbue the same sense of excitement and creative enthusiasm within his students. Seeing his students use these fundamentals and to start playing creative enterprising games on their own is the greatest reward for him as a teacher.
