, Gershwin's Porgy and Bess
, Rodgers and Hammerstein's The Sound of Music
and more! Join us for fun activities, singing, dancing and acting.
All ages are welcome.
The performers are:
Pianist Efrat Levy, the creator of Opera for Families. She performs regularly with opera singers and chamber ensembles all over the world and works as a corepetitor at the Israeli Opera house and the State-Opera in Berlin.
Enthusiastic about the idea of exposing young children to the wonders of opera, Efrat created this interactive musical program for children and performs in pre-schools throughout Berlin, Israel and California.
Soprano Amy Foote has sung an expansive repertoire, ranging from leading roles on the operatic stage to world premieres of contemporary chamber music.
She recently performed Cunegonde from Bernstein's Candide with Lamplighter's Music Theater as well as the role of Vixen in Janáček's Cunning Little Vixen with West Edge Opera.
Her operatic voice has been deemed "most impressive [with] accuracy, musicality and diction" by the San Francisco Classical Voice.
Mezzo soprano Deborah Rosengaus is a native of the Bay Area. She has performed internationally in East Asia and Australia, and in recitals in Mexico, Europe and across the U.S., in Avery Fisher Hall, Carnegie Hall, Beijing Center for the Performing Arts, Santori Hall in Tokyo, and Disney Hall with the Los Angeles Philharmonic.
She performs regularly in opera and musical theater.
