Pocket Opera Presents "Die Fledermaus" by Johann Strauss

When: Sunday, 7/23/2017 5:00 PM Export event

    Where: Schultz Cultural Arts Hall

Die-FledermausSan Francisco's alternative opera company, Pocket Opera, can best be described as audience-friendly. The company's founder and music director, Donald Pippin, leads the company's talented singers and the Pocket Philharmonic (a woodwind quartet, a string quartet plus piano) through lively, entertaining productions.

Full-length performances are fully staged with a pocket-sized cast of six to twelve singers and performed in Pippin's witty English translations. The audience experiences a full operatic work on an intimate, accessible scale unique to Pocket Opera.

    About Die Fledermaus
The wildest, funniest party on record. Eventually, all are swept off their feet with champagne and the delectable waltzes that have never failed to make anyone, old or young, dance and feel that all is right with the world. Watch out! It's contagious.
