Join us for a fun, hybrid in-person and virtual, hands-on, cooking experience where parents and kids cook side-by-side, using ingredients fresh from the Farmers Market!
Meet us at the California Avenue Farmers Market in Palo Alto to shop for seasonal fruits and vegetables needed for class that day. Then, jump on Zoom from the comfort of your own home where we will learn about why apples and honey are so important for Rosh Hashanah while we create our honey and apple hand pies!
At the end of class, we will sit down to eat our yummy culinary creations!
Under the guidance of Michelle Greenebaum, healthy chef and family nutrition expert, parents and kids will learn how to select seasonal produce, prep ingredients, season food, handle knives and practice kitchen safety skills. Parents will take home family-friendly meal ideas as well as tips for encouraging kids to cook and sample a variety of flavors. This class is a fantastic opportunity to inspire picky eaters to try new food. We are looking forward to having you join us!
Please expect to spend approximately $5–$10 per family at the market shopping for fruits and vegetables to contribute to the day's recipes in addition to the registration fee.
