Einstein Meeting Room (Bldg E) Room E-104
On Tisha B'Av, Jews around the world mourn the destruction of both temples in Jerusalem and the pain and suffering that the Jewish people have experienced through the generations.
Join us for a gathering on Tisha B'Av afternoon, which according to Jewish tradition, is a time of hope and new beginnings. We will sit on the floor (or on a chair) and mourn the brokenness in our hearts and in our world. As we come out of the challenging time of a world pandemic, we will meditate on how the light gets in through the cracks and share stories of hope and resilience. The event will include singing, conversation, chanting from the Book of Lamentations, a short guided meditation, and poetry reading.
The program will be facilitated by Tova Birnbaum with music by Sigal Vardi.
Out of respect for those fasting, only water will be served. Chairs will be available.
The event will include musical instruments.
Space is limited; please register in advance.
