Jewish Parent Academy is a one-of-a-kind program specifically designed for Russian-speaking Jewish parents. Through a nondenominational education, JPA helps explore our unique cultural heritage and build vibrant self-reliant communities.
The flagship JPA program connects parents with their heritage, enables study with world-class faculty and provides engagement with like-minded Jewish parents. JPA cultivates a robust sense of Jewish, American and Russian identity and elevates our parenting. Join us on this profound journey to explore the richness of our shared heritage.
The keynote speaker is Deena Aranoff, Faculty Director of the Richard S. Dinner Center for Jewish Studies at the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, CA. She will be discussing "The Household and the Making of the Jewish Culture: Lessons from History."
Ms. Aranoff teaches rabbinic literature, medieval patterns of Jewish thought and the broader question of continuity and change in Jewish history. Her recent publications engage with the subjects of childcare, household life and the making of Jewish culture. Her book, Mother's Milk: Essays on Child-rearing, the Household and the Making of Jewish Culture is due out in September, with Indiana University Press.
