Understanding Hatred Through the Case Study of Antisemitism | with JCRC

A workshop for PREP Fellows and their friends

    When: Tuesday, 1/7/2025 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Where: Marcia & John Goldman Teen Center (Bldg M), Room M-121

In partnership with JCRC, learn about patterns of societal hatred, how to identify it and what fuels the fires that destroy communities and threaten lives. Recognizing that hatred can take on many forms and affect many people, both as individuals or as groups, we will spend our time focusing on the particular phenomenon of antisemitism as it is directly impacting Jewish people in our communities in a more visible way than perhaps ever before.

We are offering this informative and practical workshop as an a la carte opportunity for teens whether or not they are part of the PREP Fellowship. We believe the program will be relevant to people even as a one-time session, though interested teens are still welcome to join the PREP Fellowship if they are interested.

This course is an optional part of the PREP Fellowship and can be taken on its own. It is free to attend.

The PREP Fellowship is limited to high school students and registration is open. Please reach out to Lara Walklet at [email protected] with any questions.

The PREP Fellowship (Pride. Renewal. Education. Purpose.) is an ongoing, life-skills preparation program for high school students who would like to gain community through learning practical, applicable tools that will aid their transition when leaving home for college, the workforce and/or a gap year. Over the course of seven months, under the guidance of the JCC's LEAP program manager, participants will gather as a cohort to learn and engage with a lineup of expert educators and professionals from Bay Area and national partner organizations. The PREP Fellowship is being created in partnership with Allcove, Jewish Studio Project, JFCS, Shalom Bayit, JCRC, StandWithUS and others.
