Yom Hazikaron is the Day of Remembrance for the Fallen Soldiers of Israel and Victims of Terrorism and is Israel's official Memorial Day, enacted into law in 1963.
As of Yom Hazikaron 2022, the number of fallen soldiers and victims of terror was 24,068. The day opens with a siren which is also heard the preceding evening all over the country. It lasts for one minute, during which time Israelis stop everything (including driving, which stops traffic on highways) and stand in silence, commemorating the fallen and showing respect.
A two-minute siren is sounded at 11:00 AM
the following morning, which marks the opening of the official memorial
ceremonies and private remembrance gatherings at each cemetery where
soldiers are buried. That evening, as Yom Hazikaron comes to an end,
celebrations begin for Yom Ha'atzmaut.

Yom Hazikaron Sing-along
Following the ceremony a sing-along will be held at Schultz Cultural Arts Hall. The event will be hosted by Noa Eliash, Oren Ariel and Guy Horowitz.

טקס יום הזכרון לחללי מערכות ישראל ולנפגעי פעולות האיבה
ייעודו של יום הזיכרון לחללי מערכות ישראל הוא התייחדות של אזרחי ישראל עם
זכר הנופלים במערכות ישראל, אשר בזכות הקרבתם המדינה קיימת. יום זה מצוין
מדי שנה בשנה בד' באייר או בסמוך לתאריך זה, ותמיד יום אחד לפני יום
העצמאות, כדי לסמל ולהדגיש את הקשר שבין הנופלים ומסירות נפשם ובין תקומת
מדינת ישראל. ביום הזיכרון ה'תשפ"א (2022)

הצטרפו אלינו לטקס המסורתי של ה-ICC@JCC בהשתתפות הקונסול הראשי מר מרקו סרמונטה. הטקס ייערך תחת כיפת השמיים. אנא הצטיידו בלבוש חם.
ערב שירי לוחמים
מיד בתום טקס יום הזיכרון יתקיים ערב שירי לוחמים קהילתי ומרגש בהשתתפות נעה אליעש, אורן אריאל וגיא הורוביץ. האירוע יתקיים באולם התאטרון (Schultz Cultural Arts Hall). הכניסה ללא תשלום.
אירוע זה הוא של הקהילה ולמענה. האירוע מתוכנן, מנוהל ומבוצע בהתנדבות על ידי נציגים מהקהילה. תרומות תתקבלנה בברכה ביום האירוע ברחבת הטקס, באמצעות כרטיס אשראי
באתר, או על ידי המחאה לפקודת OFJCC-ICC, Yom Hazikaron.
