Do you ever wonder how to parent or co-parent in today's unpredictable world? Or how to keep moving toward your goals with motivation and confidence instead of fear?
Join us for an inspiring and thought-provoking conversation with Rami Aizic—licensed therapist, author and father—whose personal and professional journey explores what it means to create and support family in all its forms.
This event will be moderated by family law attorney, Shannon Stein.
This event is for parents with children of all ages and their journeys, not just for parents with young children.
Rami will offer insights from his decades of experience working with families, children and adolescents across a wide range of needs—from special education to gifted programs. He will address the emotional and developmental impact of family transitions, such as divorce or restructuring, and provide guidance on healthy co-parenting, age-appropriate custody planning and child-centered decision-making.
In addition, Rami will draw from his memoir, My Dream of Fatherhood: An Unconventional Journey, to share his experience coming out during the 1980s and '90s—a time when the idea of a gay man raising biological children seemed out of reach. His story of resilience, identity and the pursuit of fatherhood offers a powerful lens through which to explore how far we've come—and the challenges that remain—for LGBTQ+ families today.
As someone who has lived and worked in Israel, Toronto, England and Los Angeles, Rami brings a unique cross-cultural perspective on how family dynamics, parenting and mental health are shaped by culture—and how we can better support one another across those differences.
Topics will include:
- Parenting through divorce and major life transitions
- Supporting children across the learning and emotional spectrum
- Cross-cultural approaches to therapy, parenting and communication
- LGBTQ+ identity and the evolving definition of family
- Personal reflections from Rami's memoir, My Dream of Fatherhood
Who should attend:
This event is ideal for parents, caregivers, educators, LGBTQ+ individuals and allies, mental health professionals and anyone interested in family systems, identity or supporting children through change.
