ENGAGING THE NEXT GENERATION OF ADULT JEWS

ENGAJ

ENGAJ is the premier destination for Jewish young adults in the South Peninsula. ENGAJ aims to help build upon and cultivate the beautiful Jewish community that already exists in the Bay Area. At ENGAJ, we strive to welcome Jews of all identities. Our diverse group of participants makes us that much stronger of a community. All Peninsula Jews are welcome at our events!

Have you ever looked at your Jewish community and thought, “I would love to get more involved and help shape my local Jewish community, but I don’t know where to start!,” or “I have this really cool idea for a community event, but I don’t have the resources to do it.” Or even “I would love to learn and discover more about my own identity and relationship with Judaism.” Then the ENGAJ fellowship is ready to help empower and aid you in reaching those goals.

The ENGAJ fellowship is a six-month program with a focus on leadership development, Jewish peoplehood, Jewish learning, community engagement and individual growth. Fellows learn from Jewish leaders, educators, local organizations and other mentors, as well as plan meaningful gatherings for like-minded peers. We welcome Jews of all identities and walks of life to apply!

The fellowship will meet approximately every three weeks on a Sunday, with opportunities for the fellows to take charge and lead/aid community events for Jewish young adults. The ENGAJ fellows will have access to unique workshops and sessions, as well as a FREE membership to the Oshman Family Jewish Community Center in Palo Alto for the duration of the Fellowship, including full access to the gym.

In the meantime, please join our ENGAJ Facebook group where we post all of our upcoming events.

Emma Goss Berber is the ENGAJ Program Coordinator. She began leading young adult Jewish programming in 2018 when she was a television reporter out in Bakersfield, CA looking to build a tight-knit Jewish community for people in their 20s and 30s.

Emma would love to grab coffee with you to learn about you and your Judaism, so that she may connect you to other members of our community.
