Chagit Carpel has been a Hebrew teacher for over 25 years, both in the US and in Israel. She received her teaching credentials from Tel Aviv University and graduated with a double major in education and Hebrew literature. In Israel, she taught new immigrant kids and youth at Ort Hertzalia and Rogozin in Tel Aviv. In the US, she has taught at Beged Kefet since its inception and elsewhere.

Throughout the years, Chagit has kept current with the latest Hebrew teaching techniques through on-going training and by keeping in touch with educators in Israel. She believes in a safe and supportive learning environment while maintaining boundaries and adjusts herself and the curriculum to students’ needs.

Chagit believes that openness to others—and listening to students and their parents—encourages learning. She values activities where the students, rather than the teacher, play a center role.

Last but not least—Chagit just loves what she does and thrives on the interaction with her students.
