dror berman

Dror Berman grew up in Israel, writing code to build games and mailing letters to NASA, certain he’d make it to space. He served in an elite Israeli Special Forces unit, where he learned that small teams of talented people, operating in ambiguity, can do what seems impossible. That conviction has shaped everything since.
He co-founded Innovation Endeavors with Eric Schmidt, a firm built on the belief that founders can now re-architect industries once too complex or too slow to change. He never made it to space, but one of his earliest investments was Planet Labs, which put hundreds of satellites into orbit. Some childhood obsessions just find a different path.
Much of Dror’s work outside investing is about bringing people together. He hosts Curiosity Camp, an annual unconference where founders, scientists and technologists set aside titles and let curiosity lead. He has served on the steering committee of ICON since its founding, helping build one of the most important gatherings of the Israeli tech community in the Bay Area.
A longtime member of the Israeli community in the Bay Area, Dror joined the board of the Oshman Family JCC to help strengthen a place where the Jewish and Israeli communities come together as one.
Dror holds an MBA from Stanford and a BS from Ben-Gurion University.
