MIDDLE SCHOOL
כיתות החטיבה מיועדות לתלמידי כיתות ו’ עד ח’ בעלי ידע קודם בקריאה ובכתיבה בעברית. השיבוץ בכיתות החטיבה השונות מתבסס על מיפוי הערכה שעוברים התלמידים בסוף כיתה ה’ ב”בגד כפת” או עם רישומם לבית הספר. בנוסף, אנו מציעים כיתת חטיבה לראשית קריאה המיועדת לתלמידים ברמת מתחילים, אשר השיבוץ אליה יעשה בהתאם למבדק רמה.
הוראת העברית ממשיכה להתמקד בפיתוח כישורי השפה העברית בכל מימדי השפה: קריאה, דיבור, כתיבה והאזנה, תוך הדגשת היבטים תרבותיים ישראליים באמצעות מגוון טקסטים ונושאים הקרובים לעולמם של התלמידים. אחת ממטרות בית הספר היא ליצור מסגרת חברתית לנוער בעלי רקע דומה ותחומי עניין משותפים, תוך חגיגת החגים, הזדמנויות להובלה וסדנאות מותאמות גיל. תוכנית הלימודים מהווה גם הכנה לכיתות התיכון (המעניקות קרדיט עבור הדרישה ל”שפה זרה”).
בכיתות החטיבה השיעורים מתקיימים אחת לשבוע במשך שעה וחצי. מערכת השעות של כל כיתה מופיעה בעמוד השלוחה הרלוונטית באתר. מידע על שכר לימוד ותשלומים מופיע בעמוד ההנחיות לרישום.
תכנית הלימודים
לתכנית הלימודים בחטיבה שלושה צירים מרכזיים שמשולבים במהלכי ההוראה: הציר השפתי, הציר הערכי / חברתי וציר הידע והמיומנויות של המאה ה-21.
במהלך שנת הלימודים התלמידים רוכשים ומטפחים מיומנויות ויכולות בתחום השפה. הם נחשפים לתכנים רבים ומגוונים, מתמודדים עם טקסטים מורכבים בעברית, מטפחים הבנה ומעמיקים את הידע הלשוני שלהם, הכל במטרה להגיע לתפקוד אופטימלי ושליטה מיטבית בשפה.
בגד כפת רואה חשיבות גדולה בעיצוב זהות התלמידים בשנות התבגרות אלה, ומתוך ראייה זו שולב בכל שנה תוכן ייחודי התומך בבניית זהותם האישית של המשתתפים. בגד כפת גאה להציע את תוכנית החטיבה העוסקת בסוגיות של זהות ושייכות באופן חוויתי ויישומי. התכנים מותאמים לכל שכבת גיל, מתפתחים יחד עם התלמידים והתלמידות, ומלווים אותם בתקופה המשמעותית של גיל ההתבגרות ועיצוב הזהות האישית שלהם ושלהן.
זהות ושייכות: בדגש על התבגרות ושנת מצווה, התלמידים ישתתפו בתוכנית ייחודית שפותחה על ידי בגד כפת, העוסקת במעגלים חברתיים, תפקידים ומגדר, וזהות יהודית-ישראלית. במסגרת התכנית יבקרו התלמידים בבית כנסת ויכירו את ההיסטוריה המשפחתית שלהם יותר לעומק. בגד כפת גאה לשתף פעולה עם “אנו – מוזיאון העם היהודי” (לשעבר בית התפוצות) בתוכנית הבינלאומית My Family Story המלווה נוער לקראת בר/בת מצווה מכל רחבי העולם ביצירת מיצג שורשים ייחודי ומשמעותי.
מנהיגות ישראלית: תכנית מנהיגות ישראלית נכתבה על ידי צוות בגד כפת במטרה להכיר לתלמידנו את מנהיגיה הדגולים של ישראל ואת האירועים ההיסטוריים לפני ואחרי קום המדינה אשר הובילו, ובתוך כך השפיעו על גורל האומה. במסגרת התוכנית ילמדו התלמידים באופן משמעותי ורלוונטי על מורשתם ופועלם של מנהיגים ומנהיגות מעצבי פני החברה והמדינה. כפועל יוצא מכך, התוכנית מעודדת שייכות, חיבור לחברה ולקהילה הישראלית והיהודית. התוכנית מאפשרת חשיפה למושגים בתחום המנהיגות, הבנת הקשר בין האירועים, קשרי סיבה ותוצאה והעמקת הידע ההיסטורי של התלמידים. בסיום התוכנית יתנסו התלמידים בעבודת חקר מסכמת.
מעורבות קהילתית – הקשר הרב דורי: במסגרת הנושא יעסקו התלמידים בחשיבות של מעורבות ואחריות כלפי הקהילה בקרבה אנו חיים, יפתחו חשיבה ביקורתית כלפי המציאות החברתית והסביבתית המקיפה אותם. הם יתמקדו ביחידת לימוד בשיתוף פרויקט “הקשר הרב דורי” של המשרד הממשלתי לשוויון חברתי ו”אנו – מוזיאון העם היהודי“. במסגרת יחידת “הקשר הרב דורי” ירחיבו התלמידים על המושג ‘קהילה’ ומשמעותו, ויכירו את אוכלוסיית הגיל השלישי. כחלק מהפרויקט המסכם של השנה, כל זוג תלמידים/ות יראיין חבר/ת קהילה וותיקים ויתעד את סיפור חייהם. כהכנה לפרויקט ילמדו התלמידים מיומנויות ראיון, כתיבה ועריכה. הפרויקט מחבר בין צעירים לוותיקים בקהילה, ומתוך סיפורי החיים, התלמידים לומדים על תקופות אחרות בתולדות המדינה ונותנים מקום מכובד ומשמעותי לכל סיפור וחווית חיים.

Our middle school classes are for sixth through eighth grade students with prior knowledge of reading and writing in Hebrew. Placement in various classes is based on a student assessment taken at the end of the fifth grade in Beged Kefet, or when they enroll in the school. In addition, we also offer a blended middle school class for beginning readers. Placement in this class is dependent upon an evaluation either after registration.
These classes continue to focus on developing Hebrew language skills in all aspects of the language—reading, speaking, writing and comprehension—while emphasizing Israeli cultural aspects through a variety of texts and subjects that are relevant to the students. One of the school’s goals is to create a social framework for youth with similar backgrounds and interests while celebrating the holidays and providing opportunities to lead age-appropriate workshops. The curriculum also prepares students for high school level classes.

Middle School Classes
Beged Kefet’s middle school curriculum is based on three main educational pillars: language, social and community values, and skills and knowledge.
During the school year, the students will cultivate and strengthen their language skills. They will be exposed to a variety of topics, work with complex texts in Hebrew and continue to deepen their understanding and comprehension, with the end goal of achieving mastery of the language.
Beged Kefet sees great importance in helping to shape the identity of the students and from this perspective. It is proud to offer a three-year program that focuses on issues of identity and belonging in a thoughtful and enjoyable way. The content is adapted to suit each grade level and develops alongside the students during this important time of adolescence and the formation of their personal identity.
Identity and belonging with an emphasis on the journey towards Bar and Bat Mitzvah: The students will undergo a special program, developed by Beged Kefet itself, where they will learn more about social circles, gender roles, Israeli-Jewish identity, have the opportunity to visit a synagogue with their class, and learn more about their personal family history.
Beged Kefet is honored to be able to collaborate with “Anu – The Museum of the Jewish People“, formerly known as Beit Hatfuzot, as part of the international program My Family Story. The program accompanies teens from all around the world, who are approaching their Bar or Bat Mitzvah, in creating a project that showcases their families’ roots in a meaningful way.
Israeli Leadership: this program was written by the Beged Kefet team with the goal of introducing our students to Israel’s great leaders and the historical events, both before and after the establishment of the state, that influenced the fate of the nation.
As part of the program, students will learn in a meaningful and relevant way about the legacy and actions of leadership that shaped the society and state of Israel. As a result, the program encourages a sense of belonging and a connection to the Israeli and Jewish society and community. The program allows exposure to leadership concepts, understanding cause-and-effect relationships, and deepening the students’ historical knowledge. At the end of the program, students will engage in a final research project.
Community engagement – intergenerational connection: The students will learn the importance of taking responsibility and being involved with the community in which they live, and think critically about the social and environmental reality that surrounds them. The students will especially focus on working with the elderly, in conjunction with the program subject of “intergenerational connection”, created in collaboration with the Israeli Ministry of Social Equality and “Anu – The Museum of the Jewish People“.
As part of the focus on “intergenerational connection”, the students will work on expanding their understanding of community by being connected to a member of the elderly generation within the community. The final project for the year will involve each pair of students interviewing their assigned elderly community member and documenting their life story. In preparation, the student will learn how to interview, write and edit a piece of this style. The goal of the project is to connect young people with elderly community members and, through their story, learn more about history and that every person’s story is significant.

קורסי התיכון מיועדים לתלמידי כיתות ט’ עד י”ב שמעוניינים לחזק ולפתח את כישורי השפה שלהם בעברית, ולזכות בקרדיט לתיכון עבור דרישות “קורס שפה זרה” לקולג’. השיבוץ בכיתות מתבסס על מבחן הערכת תלמיד שעוברים התלמידים עם הרשמתם לבית הספר.
קורסי העברית של בגד כפת מוכרים כקורסי שפה זרה על ידי מחוזות לימוד ותיכונים רבים בעמק הסיליקון בשיתוף פעולה עם בית הספר התיכון היהודי Jewish Community High School of the Bay בסן פרנסיסקו.
Beged Kefet’s high school classes are designed for students in grades 9–12 who want to strengthen their Hebrew language skills and earn high school credit to fulfill the foreign language requirement (which is also required by some collegiate institutions). Placement in the appropriate level is determined after staff evaluation.
