הגר בעלת תואר ראשון בחינוך גופני וספורט מטעם מכללת וינגייט. לפני הגעתה לעמק עבדה מספר שנים בהוראה לחינוך גופני בבית ספר יסודי “בבלי ירושלמי” בתל אביב. בנוסף להוראה בכיתות המלאות לימדה הגר גם תלמידים וקבוצות באופן פרטני בבית הספר במטרה לסייע לתלמידים בהשתלבות חברתית, תמיכה מוטורית והעצמה אישית. היא עבדה עם ילדים ומבוגרים עם צרכים מיוחדים באמצעות ספורט טיפולי והידרותרפיה במרכז “”בית איזי שפירא”.

הגר מסיימת את לימודיה במסגרת תוכנית “לומדים מכל העולם” בסמינר הקיבוצים בתל אביב, המיועדת לאקדמאים ואנשי חינוך אשר מרחיבים את התמחותם, שם היא מתמחה בלימודי ספרות ושפה.

הגר הקימה את התוכנית “סיפור בתנועה”, שיעורי העשרה לגיל הרך בעמק הסיליקון, במטרה לשמר, לפתח וללמוד את השפה העברית דרך סיפורים ובשילוב תנועה, מוסיקה ויצירה.

הגר מאמינה מאוד בשילוב התנועה והפעילות הגופנית כחלק בלתי נפרד מהוראה ומאורח החיים, ובלמידה מהנה ומגוונת המאפשרת מקום לביטוי וליצירה אישית.

Hagar Bucksboim holds a bachelor’s degree in physical education and sports from the Academic College at Wingate, Israel. Before moving to Silicon Valley, she taught physical education at Bavli Yerushalmi elementary school in Tel Aviv for several years. She also taught and assisted individual students and groups at the school in social integration, motor skill support and personal empowerment.

Hagar also worked with children and adults with special needs through sports and hydrotherapy at Beit Issie Shapiro, Israel. She will be graduating from the “Learners from All Over the World” program at Kibbutzim College, Israel, for academics and educators working on expanding their specialization. Hagar is specializing in literature and language studies.

She established the “Story in Motion” program in Silicon Valley, which is based on enrichment classes for preschoolers with the goal of preserving, developing and learning the Hebrew language through stories combined with movement, music and creativity. Hagar strongly believes that combining movement and physical activity into learning is an integral part of teaching and a way of life. Her belief is that learning must have exciting, fun and wide-ranging components to allow space for personal expression and creativity.
